motor protection switch triggers

Common causes

  • Unplugged cable to the drive
    • Harting connector on the drive
  • Blocked / jammed / wedged accumulation roller chain
    • especially with head drives that have run in the wrong direction during initial commissioning
    • damaged bearings
    • blocked chain gears due to foreign objects
  • Heavily soiled chain guide profiles
    • especially after longer system shutdowns over the weekend / after the holiday period

Problem solution

  • Check the electrical connection between the inverter and drive
    • It is also possible that individual phases within the plug wiring have no electrical connection
  • Making the accumulation roller chain operational again (especially with head drives during commissioning, partial disassembly may be necessary)
  • Cleaning the chain guide profiles
  • check / replace the bearings
  • check the chain gears for blockages
